Eternal Desire is a photographic book created with the intention to speak on how artists dedicate their entire lives with the dreams of living on forever - just for their work to be forgotten at some point in time. The book uses street art as a metaphor for this idea.
The construction side of this book is a 10” x 7” hardcover book wrapped in an oatmeal cloth with the inside pages printed on Neenah Natural Gray. The book is a spineless style book with a printed spine and sewn using the French link stitch. A small 1:1 Polaroid print is glued on the cover. The “special edition” version of this photo book features a special custom-made slipcase that is wrapped in the same oatmeal book cloth and features magnets to remain shut. On the cover of this case is a different Polaroid print. When this case is opened, an unseen print paired with another Polaroid print can be seen.
All photographs seen inside the book were taken over the course of a week to be included in the project. Digital Photos were shot on a Canon EOS 2000, and film photos were shot on either an Instax Mini 8, or a Polaroid Sun 600. Each photo was then uploaded or scanned and then edited in Lightroom and/or Photoshop and placed into the Adobe InDesign file.
