Clever Octopus is a local PNW hard cider company that needed a brand identity system. In this quick two-week turnaround project, an identity was created for the demographic of a local hipster following the keywords of clever and humorous. 

To start this project, a couple of different territories were examined. Each territory had a mood board with potential typography, colors, imagery, patterns, and aesthetics. Once a direction was picked, a round of five sketches was developed.

Once the best direction was selected, the logo was brought into Illustrator and given a vector treatment in both a black and white and colored version. A portrait and horizontal lockup was then developed. Brand identity guidelines were also created for a cohesive brand throughout all designed pieces.

Finally, the hard cider brand received a label, carrying case, and a can version of the beverage, all fitting the brand identity. Physical dummies and digital mock-ups of the product were created. The final products were photographed, and the full brand identity was complete.
