This brand identity design project aimed to refresh the audio company Altec Lansing’s brand identity. Through research, illustrations, and drafts, a refreshed re-brand was born. This project used software including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign and involved research, critiques, and modification.

Keywords “adventurous,” loud” and “connectivity” were kept in mind during the whole process of this brand redesign as well as the mission statement “to create exceptional experiences for music lovers and keep every event vibrant by constantly introducing new features without compromising on top-tier sound.” This ensured that the redesign would align with the company’s current market positioning.

To start this project out, the brand missions and values were looked at with a critical eye. A deep understanding of the overall brand was gathered.
Once the ins and outs of the brand were explored, research was conducted to develop potential territories. Dozens of logo sketches were developed and the best sketches were then taken into Illustrator to become vectorized.
Once all the needed guidelines for the brand were created, it was time for the design process to take place. Letterheads, business cards, and envelopes were created. Mock-ups of boxes, speakers, and headphones were designed. The final design piece of this project was a wide format “style-scape” print, which included all the information about the brand redesign. It included the logo, the clef lines / sound wave pattern, colors, typography, mock-ups, imagery with mock-ups included, and a focus image.
